Not sure what accessories to wear with your yellow dress? Don’t worry, you’ve come to the right place! This style guide has all the best ideas for jewelry, clutches, shoes and even nail polish to help you put together the perfect look and stand out at your next event!
Accessories for yellow dresses: best ideas
To make it simple, I’ve broken this guide to accessorizing your yellow dress into four sections: jewelry, clutches, shoes, and nail polish. In each section, you’ll find top picks for everything from daytime weddings to glam evening parties.
Whether you’re aiming for a classy, understated look or something a little bolder, I’m confident you’ll find all the inspiration you need in the ideas I’ve pulled together. Ready to get started?
Jewelry
Silver or gold jewelry is always a chic, timeless choice – perfect for any occasion, whether it’s a wedding or a glamorous evening event.
Silver earrings and necklaces tend to look great on those with cool undertones or darker hair. Gold jewelry, on the other hand, is a stunning option for those with warm undertones or blonde hair.
If you’re feeling bold, you can even mix silver and gold – just keep it balanced so your look doesn’t feel too busy!
Finally, vibrant earrings in colors like hot pink or emerald green are a fun choice to wear with a yellow dress. You can even pair them with a necklace that has matching details!
The type of earrings you choose really depends on your personal style and the occasion.
I’m a big fan of colorful teardrop earrings, especially when they’re matched with a clutch in the same shade. They’re perfect for a daytime wedding and add a sweet, romantic vibe to your look. On the other hand, fringe or cascading earrings are ideal for a glamorous, sophisticated evening look!
Clutch
When choosing a clutch, it’s important to think about both your dress and the occasion. For evening parties, you can go for something bolder – think sparkle, embellishments, or satin finishes. For daytime events, a more subtle clutch in materials like tulle, straw, or linen is the way to go.
And, as I mentioned, your dress also plays a big role: if it’s a solid color, feel free to go for a statement clutch. But if your dress already has sparkle or shine, I’d recommend keeping the clutch more simple to avoid overdoing the look.
When it comes to color, the options are endless! For a more subtle look, a silver or gold clutch is always a classy choice. If you want to add a pop of color, hot pink, fuchsia, or purple are great options!

Shoes
Nude or metallic heels are a perfect match for your yellow dress and an elegant, no-fail choice for more formal events. But before picking your shoes, it’s important to consider a few details, like the venue.
For example, stilettos aren’t the best option for a countryside wedding or a beach wedding, where the ground can be uneven. In those cases, go for block heels or, my personal favorite, metallic flat sandals with embellishments!
If you prefer heels, pumps and peep toes are great too, but I always recommend strappy sandals. They’re sleek, versatile, and will help elongate your legs, especially in nude shades.
And if the event is more casual, white sneakers are a fun and comfy choice!
Nails
As you’ve probably guessed, I love recommending timeless, elegant choices. And when it comes to nails, it’s no different!
You really can’t go wrong with your yellow dress and nude, white or red nail polish. A classic French manicure is also a fabulous option for a sophisticated, party-ready look.
But there are plenty of other colors to consider too, such as black, burgundy, blue or emerald green! To see all the options (with outfit inspiration), check out our guide to nail polish for yellow dresses.
